Information For Authors

FOR AUTHORS

 

  1. Authors submitting articles for possible publication in Expresión Económica must be the product of original work of novel scientific research and adhere to publication ethics.
  2. It is the authors' responsibility that the manuscripts submitted for review have not been published or submitted for evaluation in another publication.  The characteristics of a previously published work are the following:
  • When the full text has been published by any physical or electronic means in any language,
  • When several paragraphs of manuscripts previously published by at least one of the co-authors are part of the text submitted to the journal.
  • When the manuscript submitted to the journal has been previously published as part of the proceedings of a conference or academic event.

 

  1. Articles and documents should be adequately cited and complete references should be provided, including the DOI, in APA format in the most recent version available.  Citations to published works are made when the author has taken the ideas of other authors to support his/her research.

 

  1. Papers submitted to Expresión Económica will be reviewed by anti-plagiarism software. If PLAGIARISM is found, they will be immediately REJECTED.

 

  1. Authors may withdraw their work, if it is in their best interest, during the review process. Once approved for publication it CANNOT BE WITHDRAWN.

 

  1. Approved articles will be scheduled in the issues of Expresión Económica on a first-come, first-served basis.

 

  1. The author(s) will receive their evaluation opinion in the corresponding format within a maximum of 90 days after being notified that the article has been submitted to double-blind peer review. In case of a TIE in the decision of both referees, a third one will be appointed to give the final vote. This decision will be final.

 

  1. The author(s) will have 15 days to reply and send corrections to the observations made by the referees. If more time is required, the author(s) should notify the coordination by e-mail along with the arguments for needing more time. If you do not agree with the observations, you should send the coordination a free-format letter in which you respectfully and scientifically argue the reasons for doing so. The editorial and scientific committee or the director of the journal, after analyzing the arguments expressed in the letter, will determine the decision on how to proceed, whether to publish or not. This decision will be final.

 

  1. Those authors who consider that their curriculum and experience in an area of specialty is of quality and prestige, may submit their CV to the coordination to be considered by the Editorial and Scientific Committee to be peer review referees in the future.

 

GUIDELINES FOR AUTHORS

  1. Articles submitted to EXPRESIÓN ECONÓMICA must be written in Spanish, English or Portuguese. They should be in Word (office) or Pages (mac) format. They can be submitted in three ways:

  1. Articles should be 25 to 30 justified pages in length (including tables and graphs) and should have the following characteristics:

 

  • Page margins: top and bottom 3cm and right and left 2.5cm.
  • Typography: Times New Roman (including tables and graphs), 12 points general (text, sections, subsections, etc.), 11 points for tables, graphs and bibliography, 10 points for footnotes in text, tables and graphs. 1.5 line spacing.
  • Numbering: papers should be numbered in bold center, in Times New Roman or Calibri 10 point.
  • Paragraphs: except for the paragraph following a title, the rest should be indented 1.25 cm. Paragraphs should be 1.5 spaced, justified and without leaving blank lines between them, only when a new section follows.
  • Sections and subsections: each section should be numbered with Arabic numerals, in bold and lower case (e.g. International Economy), the subsections should be in bold preceded by the corresponding number (2.1 Exports), there may be a third level that would be in bold and round (2.1.1 Agrifood Exports of Mexico). In all cases the headings are separated from the previous paragraph and the one preceding it.
  • Quotations: they will appear between quotation marks in the paragraph if they are less than five lines, from five lines on, they will be placed, leaving a space, in a separate paragraph, with a left indentation of 1.25 cm, without quotation marks. In both cases, the name of the author, year of publication and page number(s) should be placed in parentheses at the end of the citation, for example, (Gómez, 1990: 34-36). If only the author is cited, the first surname and in parentheses the year of publication, Vázquez (1989), if there are several authors in parentheses will be in the form (Martínez, 2007; Brown, 2001; Ortega, 1997).
  • References: These will be presented in alphabetical order, with 11-point Calibri font, French indentation of 1.25cm, in APA 7 format and at the end of the paper on a new page.
  • Annexes: if required, they can be placed at the end before the references.
  1. Submit the letter of originality and non-simultaneous application duly signed. The letter of originality and non-simultaneous application will indicate that the article submitted for evaluation is unpublished, the product of scientific, theoretical or empirical research work. Manuscripts in the process of evaluation and those accepted or published cannot be submitted to other evaluation processes. Papers published in the journal must be unpublished and must not have been published in other journals or by other means. For this point, the author(s) of the work should send it to the e-mail expresioneconomica@cucea.udg.mx or as one of the attached files when submitting it through the journal's web page.
