The role and importance of structural funds in the integration process of the European Union

Abstract

The European Regional Development Fund (ERDF) tries to influence, in order to correct the regional imbalances that prevail in certain specific zones, that belongs to the European Union, considering to the most needed that require certain direer help, for example, to the investments in enterprises, infrastructure related to the search activity, and to innovation, or, financial instruments to support the regional productive and local development, to promote the cooperation between cities and the regions and means of technical assistance to help the productive entities.
