University terminal efficiency is the total number of students that graduate within the time specified by the academic program with respect to those who enroll . This paper proposes a model to calculate efficiency levels based on the types of students, that is, students who leave the university, those who graduate and those who lag behind. To estimate the model of efficiency we use four generations of students from the Centro Universitario de Ciencias Económico Administrativas of the University of Guadalajara .In general our main results point out that women have the higher terminal efficiency than men and that the most successful bachelor programs were Public Accounting, Information Systems and International Business.
