Abstract

The purpose of this article is to describe the existence of an innovation process in the agricultural sector of the Bajío region of Guanajuato, the main characteristics and types of innovation being carried out by agricultural producers and some producer organizations in the region.
It also seeks to link this innovation process to the socio-technical transition that is taking place in the region, and the gestation of competitive advantages for the producers and the organizations that are carrying them out and that, at the same time, the phenomenon of "innovative environment" is developing, which is explained by the role played by the phenomenon of "territorial proximity".
