Abstract

The total surface area of region 02 Altos Norte of the state of Jalisco is 8,882 23 square kilometers, which represents almost 11% of the state's surface area. According to the new administrative regionalization, it is made up of the municipalities of Encarnación de Díaz, Lagos de Moreno (regional headquarters), Ojuelos de Jalisco, San Diego de Alejandría, San Juan de los Lagos, Teocaltiche, Unión de San Antonio and Villa Hidalgo. This region is located to the east of the state of Jalisco and borders: to the north with the state of Aguascalientes; to the northeast with Zacatecas and San Luis Potosí; to the east with Guanajuato and to the south and west with region 03 Altos Sur.
