The main objective of this paper is to show that when the countries that make up a bloc -what some specialists have called regionalism or integration- present great asymmetries among themselves, the threatening policy of leaving the bloc can be very efficient for the countries most harmed by the presence. In particular, in this article we will analyze the current situation within the Southern Cone Market, better known in Latin America as Mercosur.
