In this paper we analyze the global financial crisis of 2007-2010. In particular, we evaluate its origins, characteristics, and the responses given to manage it from a theoretical and historical perspective. We conclude that it is very likely that the global crisis will not be resolved in the short term due to the lack of synchronization of economic cycles between developed and developing economies. We also include a chronology of events.
