Abstract

This document develops an analysis related to the problem of the expansion of the Guadalajara Metropolitan Zone (ZMG) towards the municipalities that surround it. This integrates the concepts and policies of urban development. This work focuses its analysis on the case of the Paseo de los Agaves subdivision, previously known as Casas GEO, Villas or Villa Luna 11ª Etapa, located in the municipality of Tlajomulco de Zúñiga, Jalisco. The article was based on the results of the research project “Building houses and destroying dreams: the mobility of young families and the construction of social housing in Tlajomulco de Zúñiga, Jalisco.” This article integrates the results of the first stage of the study that covered the period from 2000 to 2012, in which greater urban-population growth occurred in this municipality. The second stage of this research will cover the period from 2013 to 2023.
