Abstract

In a sample of manufacturing companies, the perception of the industry's contribution to environmental deterioration was measured, obtaining 54 points for those located in Guadalajara and 87 for those in Zapopan. However, in terms of proactivity, a weighted index of 77 points was obtained for those in Guadalajara and only 58 for those in Zapopan. In this aspect, companies were identified that range from an incipient acceptance of environmental considerations in decision-making, to a significant advance in principles and practices in their favor. The most important pressure factors for companies to implement actions in favor of the environment are regulatory in Zapopan and financial in Guadalajara.
