Information For Librarians

Expresión Económica appeared in 1977 as an initiative of the students of the then School of Economics of the University of Guadalajara. Thus becoming the first economic magazine in this part of Mexico. During this first period, 7 issues were published and it was discontinued in 1979.  In 1998, professors and researchers of the Center for Social and Economic Research (CISE) of the Economics Department of the CUCEA, took the initiative to resume the magazine. Thus, in September of that year, issue number 1 of the journal saw the light of day in its new era. In this way, the magazine sought to become a reference and a solution in Western Mexico while proposing solutions to the serious economic problems that afflicted our nation at that time.  It is in this context that Expresión Económica was reborn.

First Issue, September 1998

Today, in a world with serious economic problems, but above all ecological problems, which is the basis of any economy, but even more important, the sustenance for life. We must propose new ideas that allow both economic activity and sustainability to go hand in hand in a harmonious way. That is why in the last three years Expresión Económica has presented innovative proposals in its pages. We intend to continue working with like-minded economists and scientists who bring fresh and innovative thinking to the debate and discussion.

We encourage research librarians to list this journal among their library's electronic journal holdings. As well, it may be worth noting that this journal's open source publishing system is suitable for libraries to host for their faculty members to use with journals they are involved in editing (see Open Journal Systems).
