Trade and investment between Mexico and Chile: a view from the free trade agreement

The signing of the Economic Complementation Agreement in 1992 and the Free Trade Agreement in 1998 have determined that the commercial relationship between Chile and Mexico is successful The levels of commercial exchange have grown significantly driven by the tariff liberalization that today reaches 99.7% of bilateral trade This tlC is a state-of-the-art agreement, The agreement has benefited both countries with an institutional framework that follows up on the commitments made, the mechanisms established for the resolution of conflicts, together with a constant dialogue between both governments, which expedites the solution of problems Despite the geographic distance, a true free trade zone has been created and the agreement has been evaluated as excellent on both sides.
