Evolution of social policy in Mexico: new instruments?

Abstract

Social policy in Mexico has as main objective human development through the creation and expansion of capabilities through universal services of education, health and nutrition, with the ultimate aim of achieving greater equality of opportunity between citizens, particularly those living in conditions of vulnerability and poverty. The instrument of social policy employee in Mexico is based on the principles of the targeting of subsidies to cover social needs. They will identify and analyze the essential characteristics of the design and implementation of social policy and submit their most important results, specifically those of anti-poverty programs: “progresa”, “opor-tunidades” and more recently the “Cruzada Nacional contra el Hambre”
