Abstract

In the metropolitan area of Guadalajara (ZMG), as in most of the large cities of the country, industrial problems are closely related to its historical development scheme. In the 1980s the area occupied by industries in the ZMG almost doubled, went from 400 to 750 acres. In this area large manufacturing establishments settled on land classified as industrialThe small and medium enterprises, on the other hand, was established in the form more scattered and anarchic, even in residential areas.   42 023 Establishments according to estimates elaborated based on the rate of annual growth of 0.375 are estimated for the year 2012.
