Abstract

Centers of economic activity are mostly located in cities, which provide a link to glo-bal production networks through their efficient use of telecommunications and other technologies. With globalization, services to the producer become increasingly relevant along with the responses companies give to the productive restructuring they are immersed in. In Guadalajara as in other cities, these activities are influenced economically and spatially. The rise of so-called network companies is definitely related to global productive chains which operate in the context of world markets through their interactions in the buying and selling of services. A study is made in this paper of the location of companies with global links and the networks they may belong to.
