Abstract

This article will discuss general topics related to mergers and acquisitions, ranging from the specification and differentiation of the terms, the types of mergers and acquisitions, their evolution over time, the organizational reasons that cause and condition them, legal issues, among other aspects. Before I begin, I want to make it clear that the abbreviation f/a will be used to refer to mergers and acquisitions when necessary; otherwise, the word merger or acquisition will be used to refer independently to each of these concepts.
