Abstract

The main purpose of this research work is to study and analyze the monetary income of the municipalities of Bahía de Banderas, in Nayarit and Puerto Vallarta, in Jalisco, which make up the Interstate Metropolitan Area, based on a comparative study between both to determine their financial autonomy. referring to the other two levels of government, such as their respective subnational states —Nayarit and Jalisco—, as well as the Federation. We must not lose sight of the fact that financing is a primary variable for the management and implementation of various projects that must be carried out and that it leads to the success or failure of any metropolitan area - even more so in a recently created one and that is the the only conurbation that involves more than one sub-national state in Mexico, as is the case here, with an economic activity as demanding in services as national and international tourism.
